Lopez Island with Boy Scouts

Saturday Jess and I went with Troop 366 to Lopez Island. We stayed at Spencer Spit State Park and intended the weekend to be filled with bike riding around the island. The scouts were worn out after about 8 miles so we ended up mostly playing on the beach and around camp. Jess took a spill on the bike and is scraped up in several places. Most of the kids had a lot of fun anyway and they all enjoyed the ferry rides.

I think this is the first time I have ever been to Lopez. I think we will come back another time with the family and do some more biking and check out the winery.
Next weekend we will be at the beachhouse for Memorial Day.

Joey's field trip

Thursday, I took the day off to go to Tillicum Village with Joey's class. Unfortunately, the roof on the longhouse on Blake Island is being repaired so we just took the boat around Elliot Bay several times while they did their "Native American" stuff on board. We got to watch dancers, color masks and eat a little bit of salmon for lunch. Jess and I almost saw the show last summer at the longhouse when we kayaked out there but I was too cheap to pay that much for dinner and Indian Dancing. I don't think I have any urge to go back....even when the roof is done.

Vegas Weekend

Just got home from a crazy weekend in Las Vegas. We celebrated Darin's birthday with 4 couples with our home base being the Treasure Island. We played some drank some, walked around, drank some, gambled, drank some, golfed, and drank some more. Didn't lose too much and we had a pretty good time. The boys stayed with Grammy Ann, who not only stayed with them at our house but she also took us to the airport, weeded our back garden a bit and planted a bunch of stuff. We got back early this morning so we have been working with her in our back yard for a few hours.
